Who We Are

Alley Park Flooring is a locally owned flooring company serving homes and apartments across New York. We are not a big chain that sends whoever is available that day. The same small crew that measures your room is the crew that installs the floor and cleans up afterward, so nothing gets lost between a salesperson and an installer.

Our manager, Hubert, oversees every job himself. He has spent years on his knees laying floors and knows the trade from the subfloor up. He checks the prep, the layout and the finished work before we call a job done, and he is usually the person you talk to when you call with a question.

We like to understand exactly what you need before a single plank goes down. That means asking how you use the room, who lives there, whether there are pets, and how long you plan to stay. A cozy one-bedroom apartment and a busy family kitchen need different floors, and we would rather spend a few extra minutes on the phone than put in the wrong one.

The work covers hardwood floors, tile installation, carpet installation, laminate, vinyl, waterproof flooring, refinishing and full replacement. You can read what each one involves on our Services page.

How We Work on New York Flooring Jobs

Every flooring installation is a little different, but the steps stay the same. Here is what a typical job looks like from the first call to the last sweep.

  1. We talk through the project

It starts with a phone call. You tell us the room, what is down now and what you want. We ask about your building, your schedule and your budget, and give you an honest idea of which floors make sense before we set a time to come out.

  2. We check the existing floor and subfloor

At your home we measure the room, pull up a vent cover or corner if we can, and check what is underneath. We look for soft spots, squeaks, moisture and how far out of level the floor is. This is where we find out if the job is a simple install or needs repairs first.

  3. We prepare the surface

We protect hallways and doorways, take out the old flooring and haul it away. Then we fix the subfloor: screwing down loose panels, replacing damaged sections, patching low spots and grinding high ones. Good prep is most of a good floor.

  4. We install the new floor

Wood is acclimated, tile is laid out from the center so cuts end up even at the walls, and carpet is stretched tight. We work from a straight reference line, keep expansion gaps where they belong, and fit thresholds and trim so transitions sit flush.

  5. We clean up and walk it with you

We vacuum, wipe down and take every scrap with us. Then we walk the floor with you, explain how to care for it, and fix anything you are not happy with before we leave.
